Job summary

Referment is recruiting a data center infrastructure engineer focused on high‑density liquid cooling and the hardware lifecycle that depends on it. The role involves deploying and validating cooling architectures, managing capacity, and coordinating with vendors across New Jersey data centers.

You will support field execution, monitor power and thermal performance, and contribute to lab and production testing of next‑generation cooling systems.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in data center operations or critical facility environments.
• Hands‑on experience with direct liquid cooling architectures and maintenance.
• Experience managing capacity and density as hardware requirements evolve.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings to trace power delivery.
• Systems administration fundamentals including server diagnostics and firmware management.

Responsibilities

• Support design and deployment of high-density infrastructure through field execution.
• Manage site capacity across power, cooling and space to stay within limits and allow growth.
• Oversee vendors installing specialist infrastructure and ensure power and thermal requirements are met.
• Develop runbooks and validate deployments for power distribution, thermal balance and readiness.
• Pilot and document next‑gen cooling, including liquid‑to‑chip systems and secondary cooling loops.
• Maintain accurate monitoring and inventory records and provide senior technical support for hardware issues.
