Job summary

ABM Mission Critical Solutions seeks a seasoned Critical Facilities HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and mechanical systems supporting 24/7 data center operations. This role provides after-hours technical coverage to ensure system reliability and rapid response to alarms.

You will work independently while coordinating with site operations, controls, and on-call teams, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, pumps, and VFDs,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
• Experience in data center or mission-critical environments preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and sequences of operation.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work capability.
• HS diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, condensers, pumps, VFDs, humidification systems.
• Monitor system performance, BAS/BMS alarms, trends, and environmental conditions during second shift to ensure thermal stability and environmental compliance.
• Respond to HVAC alarms and service requests, escalating as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic controls issues impacting HVAC performance and reliability.
• Execute work per SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, safety procedures, and change-control requirements to prevent impact to critical operations.
• Support scheduled maintenance activities during second-shift maintenance windows.
• Document corrective actions or follow-up needs in the CMMS.
• Coordinate turnover with first-shift teams for status and ongoing work.
• Escort and oversee third-party vendors performing after-hours maintenance or repairs.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all work in CMMS with findings and recommendations.
