Job summary

Trane Technologies plc is hiring a Data Center Technician to support mission-critical data centers and high-reliability facilities. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up advanced HVAC systems that keep essential operations running.

You will use your technical expertise in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, mechanical layouts, and pipe fitting to solve complex issues and help ensure maximum uptime.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC experience providing system-level knowledge.
• Proven experience starting up air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, including commissioning and post-start checks.
• Data Center experience preferred, including familiarity with industry project phases.
• BMS experience preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with service leaders and customers to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs.
• Represent the company as direct customer contact for Chiller products on projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Diagnose and repair equipment using blueprints or engineering specs and various hand-tools.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required, including overnight travel.
• Work with Data Center partners to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
• Provide coaching and training to less experienced technicians as needed.
• Support high-stakes documentation, problem solving in zero-downtime environments, and adherence to SLAs.
• Enforce safety standards and manage assets responsibly.
