Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Data Center Technician to support mission-critical data centers and high-reliability facilities. You will commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up advanced HVAC systems, using your knowledge of thermodynamics, mechanical layouts, and pipe fitting to maintain uptime.

You will collaborate with internal teams and customers on new facility installations and retrofits, receiving hands-on training, access to latest technologies, and clear career growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of HVAC experience in systems level knowledge.
• Proven experience performing equipment start-up of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, including commissioning and post-start checks.
• Proficient use of software to connect and check chiller operation.
• Data Center experience preferred, including familiarity with L2–L5 project phases.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with service leaders and customers to understand on-site installation and repair requirements.
• Represents the company as direct customer contact for Chiller products on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Uses software and tools to diagnose and repair units per blueprints/engineering specs.
• Maintains flexibility to work overtime and weekends; occasional overnight stays.
• Works with Data Center partners to minimize downtime; provides coaching to less experienced technicians.
