Job summary

SpaceXAI’s Memphis data center is seeking a Fiber Technician to install and maintain critical fiber optic networks. You will work on-site with a focused team to ensure reliable connectivity and support SpaceXAI’s mission to accelerate scientific discovery through AI.

The role requires hands-on experience with fiber in large data center environments, safety-conscious operations, and the ability to lift up to 35lbs and work at heights as needed. Flexible scheduling may be required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities as a commercial fiber optic technician.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of datacenter installation projects under supervision.
• Ensure a safe and productive work environment.
• Develop sensor indicators and conduct timely inspections to prevent instability in fiber systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and install fiber optics systems to ensure proper operation.
• Examine and replace faulty and/or old fiber optic cables.
• Organize scheduled maintenance routines.
• Handle fiber splicing and rectify problem areas.
• Monitor signal strength of devices.
• Maintain system records and designs.
