Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions for its data centers. You will help maintain HVAC, power distribution, generators, UPS systems and monitoring controls to ensure uptime and performance.

The role emphasizes safety, cost-effective operations and quick repairs, with shift flexibility to cover non-standard hours. You will collaborate with technicians, read blueprints, and support upgrades and commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, or Controls/Automation experience in an industrial/commercial environment.
• Experience in Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Systems, Mechanical Infrastructure Systems, Generators, Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Testing, Electrical Safety, Mission Critical Systems, Control Panels, Controllers.
• Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and PPE like safety harnesses.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.

• Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor and support physical facilities conditions.
• Some duties include heating and cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems.
