Description

The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer Facility will be responsible for Data Center Engineering Operations within an Amazon Data Center, including risk management, mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring all work complies with established practices and procedures.
2. Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
3. Coordinate projects with IT managers and other business leaders, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
4. Operate and manage routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
5. Assist in the design and build-out of new facilities.
6. Participate in projects aimed at increasing current facility efficiency.
7. Manage assets and inventory effectively.
8. Assist in recruiting efforts.
9. Deliver quality service and meet all customer demands.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical Military/Trade School Degree with relevant experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
• 0-2 years of management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of Data Center Engineering and Management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Knowledge of network design, low voltage copper/fiber cabling.
