Responsibilities

  • Provide expert hardware support, diagnostics, and component replacement for high-density servers and GPU systems.
  • Support and administer High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments utilizing Slurm workload manager and BCM.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise compute, storage, and networking hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate proactively with systems administrators, network engineers, and lab managers to resolve operational incidents.

Detailed Job Description

As a Data Center Engineer at Four Ways Consulting in Reno, NV, you will serve as the principal technical authority responsible for maintaining the absolute uptime, hardware reliability, and operational performance of enterprise data centers and HPC labs. Your daily responsibilities will encompass executing data center operations using DCIM tools (Nautobot), administering Linux and Windows operating systems, configuring TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, and SSL networking services, and supporting specialized GPU and server hardware. You will manage High-Performance Computing (HPC) workloads via Slurm and BCM, handle compute, storage, and networking infrastructure, and collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams.
