Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities, including diesel generators, electrical and cooling systems.

You will work on-site, travel between locations as needed, and support a team of engineers, technicians, and vendors to ensure uptime. The role emphasizes hands-on electrical/mechanical work, safety, and collaboration across AWS infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations.
• Ability to work in mission-critical facilities and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Install and decommission racks within SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Prepare technical write-ups to support change management.
• Coordinate daily work requests, drive to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on-site support to contractors, sub-contractors and vendors per practices and local laws.
• Support shifts up to 12 hours and potential rotations; may support multiple locations.
