Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Manassas, VA is hiring a Data Center Engineering Technician to help maintain critical infrastructure, including standby generators and 3‑phase electrical systems.

You will operate and troubleshoot essential data center equipment, ensuring high uptime and safety standards. The role requires travel to various data center sites as needed, with shifts up to 12 hours and potential training at different facilities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical and mechanical equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On‑site support of contractors, sub‑contractors and vendors per practices and local laws.
• Shifts up to 12 hours and may rotate; role may support multiple locations/sites.
