Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join the frontline of our mission-critical facilities. You will monitor electrical and mechanical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to incidents to help maintain high availability.

The role requires travel between data center sites, willingness to work long shifts, and ability to work with external contractors, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting in data centers.
• Ability to travel between data center locations as needed.
• Willingness to work long shifts and lift up to 39 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLA."
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support the change management program.
• Monitor daily work requests and drive to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors; ensure work meets standards and local regulations.
• Work schedule changes; shifts can be up to 12 hours and may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
