Job summary

Target Corp in Elk River, MN is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support our mission-critical infrastructure on-site. You will plan and implement power, cooling, and related infrastructure projects, review operation data, and provide technical guidance to technicians to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires a 4-year degree or equivalent, 4+ years in data centers, and familiarity with MEP systems, safety standards, and operation procedures.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of data center or mission critical experience.
• Understanding of generators, switchgear, chillers, fire systems, CRAH, PDU, RPP, UPS systems.
• Proficient in reading/understanding MEP building prints, onelines, and sequence of operations.
• Familiar with OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, ASHRAE.
• Strong MOP/SOP/EOP creation, oversight, and approval experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work under pressure and time constraints, with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Moderate to advanced PC Skills.
• Ability to alter shift to accommodate maintenance or shift coverage.
• Ability to access all areas of the facility

Responsibilities

• Assist in MOP creation, reviewing, approving, and oversight.
• Plan, design, and implement power, cooling, and infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical expertise for corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as the escalation point for medium/high severity events and incidents.
• Conduct site surveys, load verifications, and walk-throughs to support designs.
• Review BMS/EPMS data for capacity and performance assessments.
• Support small to medium infrastructure and maintenance projects.
• Provide engineering guidance to technician teams for day-to-day operations.
