Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Data Center Engineer to support daily operations in a fast-paced Austin data center. The role involves hands-on rack and stack activities, structured cabling, power distribution, hardware troubleshooting, and ticket management.

Candidates should be organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and committed to safety, documentation, and operational excellence. Certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are a plus; experience with DCIM platforms is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack and stack activities and hardware troubleshooting in the data center.

• Utilize ticketing systems to document and track issues and resolutions.
• Maintain safety, organization, and accurate documentation in all data center operations.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Center Engineer to support day-to-day operations within a fast-paced data center environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with rack and stack activities, structured cabling, power distribution systems, hardware troubleshooting, and ticket management. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, and operational excellence.

Skills and Requirements

Proven experience working in a data center environmentStrong rack and stack experience with IT hardwareSolid knowledge of network cabling (copper/fiber)Experience with data center power, rack power, and power distributionBasic networking knowledge (e.g. connectivity, patching, IP awareness)Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood time management and ability to priorities tasksComfortable working with multiple teams in a dynamic environmentMaintain high standards of organization, safety, and documentationExcel skills.Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or similar)Experience working on large-scale data centre builds or migrationsFamiliarity with DCIM platforms (e.g. Sunbird, Nlyte, Schneider EcoStruxure)
