Job summary

Riot Platforms is seeking an entry-level Electrical Technician to join the Electrical Department at our Calvert City, KY facility. You will support acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low and medium voltage power systems under supervision, with extensive company-paid training through NICET Level III certification.

This on-site role emphasizes safety, accurate data collection, timely reporting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-growing data center

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school or Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology preferred.
• 0–2 years in electrical testing or related field with foundational AC/DC theory knowledge.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams and schematics and follow test procedures.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E, LOTO, safe grounding practices; complete safety trainings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; ability to learn Power DB, RTS, AVTS.
• Willingness to pursue NICET Electrical Power Testing certification (Level I/II) and complete company training.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet customer site access and badge requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate electrical test equipment; maintain/calibrate tools.
• Test and maintain low/medium voltage equipment per industry standards (NETA, NFPA, OSHA, NEC, IEEE).
• Test and document switchgear, breakers, protection and control systems, transformers, cables, grounding, and facility systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings to plan testing and identify configurations.
• Follow safety procedures including pre-job planning, LOTO, and permitting.
• Inspect equipment, perform minor repairs, maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Support commissioning activities and record results using required software.
• Coordinate with teams, contractors, and customers to schedule work and provide updates.
