Another Source’s client, Sabey Data Centers, is recruiting a Data Center Electrical Facilities Engineer to join their team in Quincy, WA.

Internally role is titled Data Center Operations Engineer 1

Shift Requirement:

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm. Once training is complete, the schedule will change to Sunday – Wednesday or Tuesday – Saturday first shift.

About the role:

This position will be responsible for "hands-on" day-to-day facility maintenance, repairs, and operations within the company’s portfolio. This position plays a role in maintaining data center infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and supporting the operations team. The company’s data centers incorporate a variety of topologies and brands of electrical, mechanical, and environmental control systems, supporting varied tenant needs.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Routine Equipment Maintenance: Execute scheduled and preventive maintenance tasks on data center equipment. Perform equipment checks, inspections, and cleaning to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Collaborate with the data center team to support preventive maintenance activities, including testing, cleaning, and inspection. Ensure tasks are executed according to schedules to minimize downtime.
  2. Monitoring and Alert Response: Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and power consumption. Respond promptly to alarms and alerts following predefined procedures. Maintain awareness of equipment status via monitoring dashboards.
  3. Assistance in Issue Resolution: Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Participate in diagnosing problems, implementing solutions, and documenting incidents. Support during critical incidents and participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 coverage.
  4. Inventory Management and Documentation: Assist in managing inventory, tracking stock levels, and initiating procurement. Contribute to documentation of equipment configurations.
  5. Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Work with external vendors and contractors during installations, upgrades, and repairs. Ensure work aligns with standards and timelines.
  6. Adherence to Compliance and Safety: Follow data center procedures, standards, and safety protocols. Promote a safety-conscious culture and report concerns promptly.
  7. Support for Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Participate in planning efforts, respond to emergencies, and help restore services. Document incidents and communicate with stakeholders during and after incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or coursework are a plus.
  • Relevant industry experience (mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.). Ability to learn systems using manuals and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software.

Salary Range: $62,101 - $90,046 depending on experience.
