Job summary

Amazon Web Services seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a design team responsible for data center electrical infrastructure. Based in Austin, TX or Herndon, VA, you will drive concepts through construction documents, directing submittals and commissioning while ensuring safety, uptime and cost efficiency.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with internal and external groups, and travel to sites as needed in a fast-paced cloud environment.

Qualifications

Hands-on electrical design experience for data centers.
Ability to lead a team of electrical engineers and coordinate cross-functional groups.
Willingness to travel up to 20% and oversee site reviews through turnover.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design of data center critical infrastructure systems.
Facilitate weekly meetings with staff, resource planning, evaluating external consultants, and design issue resolution.
Drive process improvements within the team and ensure quality of electrical designs.
Collaborate with internal and external groups to understand user requirements and support site reviews.
Oversee data center electrical designs and coordinate with other disciplines to produce construction documents.
Review and approve equipment submittals and define project scope, providing technical support during construction and commissioning.
