Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Data Center Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design of critical data center facilities across the US. You will own architecture from utility service entrance to rack-level delivery, shaping reference designs and reviewing submittals with a focus on reliability and scalability.

You will drive prefabrication and modular strategies, collaborate with hardware and compute teams, and ensure compliance with NFPA/NEC and other regulations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities.
• Deep familiarity with US electrical codes (NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 70E) and interconnection rules.
• Experience with prefabricated and modular data center electrical infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; professional registration is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of data center equipment across the US portfolio, including utility interface and substation, HV infrastructure, generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, and grounding.
• Develop and maintain electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and specs for power distribution (PDUs, busway, rack power).
• Perform studies (short-circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, load flow, power quality) to inform design decisions.
• Read and validate floor plans, plan DC hall layouts, and coordinate with cooling designs.
• Drive prefabrication and modular strategy (modular skids, e-houses) and manage interfaces between components and on-site installation.
• Coordinate with vendors, utilities, and regulators to ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards.
