Job summary

DSV is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee dock activities at the Bridgeport facility. The role focuses on labor management, planning inbound/outbound flows, and coordinating with customers to maintain service levels.

Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with SOPs. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years’ experience in logistics/distribution environment.
• 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
• Preferred: MHE certification/knowledge of basic MHE operation.
• Satisfactory forklift training completion.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• RF Scanners and WMS functions knowledge.
• English: reading, writing, verbal; business communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inbound, outbound, product slotting and customer communication daily.
• Plan labor scheduling, space utilization and manpower.
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff; address performance issues.
• Ensure safety, quality and cost objectives aligning with SOPs.
• Communicate with senior management and client representatives.
• Review workloads, plan space and staffing changes as needed.
• Lead, motivate and develop warehouse team members.
