Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Data Center Design & Performance Engineer to design and review electrical, mechanical, and site plans for data centers. The role requires making independent decisions and ensuring alignment with design standards, with travel up to 40% and 60% remote work from a CoreSite market.

Collaboration with facility and operations teams is essential. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in data center design/operations, proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel, and a strong understanding of data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data center operations and design.
• Strong knowledge of data center design, operations, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the efficiency, reliability, and engineering design of electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems for data center expansion and upgrades.
• Define scope for testing and commissioning to ensure operability of systems.
• Provide final QA sign-off for engineered systems at project end.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering to design customer deployments.
• Support the sales process with technical expertise.
