Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Data Center Design & Performance Engineer to design, review, and sign off on electrical, mechanical, and site plans for data centers. You will collaborate with facility and operations teams to ensure build standards and verifications are met.

Ideal candidates have a background in data center design, strong CAD skills, and the ability to travel up to 40% to support testing and construction activities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; 3+ years in data center design/ops.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems and redundancy.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, sometimes on short notice.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate design of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life-safety systems for upgrades.
• Define testing/commissioning scope to verify operability.
• Provide final QA sign-off for engineered systems after construction.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering for customer deployments.
• Support complex opportunities with technical expertise.
• Review and optimize existing facility systems for reliability.
