As a Data Center Design Manager, you will influence data center design, construction, and equipment qualification, working with internal and external teams to define, design, and implement complex infrastructure projects. You will ensure facilities meet quality, reliability, and efficiency standards while driving innovation.

Your responsibilities include leading project teams for global data center designs within schedule and budget, overseeing equipment qualification, developing mechanisms for team integration, coordinating across disciplines, managing relationships, and ensuring standards are met. You will also work closely with stakeholders and be part of a global team transforming cloud infrastructure design and delivery.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver data center designs within schedule and budget
2. Oversee equipment qualification processes, ensuring adherence to standards globally
3. Develop scalable mechanisms for team integration and equipment testing
4. Collaborate across disciplines and manage relationships with suppliers and contractors
5. Manage stakeholder relationships and drive process innovation
6. Create and maintain best practice documentation
7. Monitor project metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality
8. Travel for site assessments and meetings, up to 25%, including international travel

The Data Center Design Engineering team at AWS includes Architects, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Fire Protection, and Controls Engineers. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 6+ years of design experience in complex technical projects
• 5+ years in mission-critical facility design or technical program management
• 3+ years of project management experience (scope, schedule, budget, risk)

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• 10+ years of data center design, construction, or operations experience
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
• Ability to communicate complex issues to leadership and develop business cases and performance metrics
