Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Data Center Design Manager to own optimization of data center designs around space, power, and cost. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and business, partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure design choices reflect commercial trade-offs.

You'll work across mechanical, electrical, structural disciplines to push rack density while controlling build and operating costs, and you'll translate between design engineers

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data center design, engineering, or infrastructure planning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Experience translating cost and timeline constraints into engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design optimization across space, power density, and cost for new data center designs.
• Partner with Finance, Engineering, and Supply Chain to translate commercial requirements into design specs.
• Evaluate power distribution, cooling strategies and their impact on rack density.
• Build and maintain cost models comparing design options per kW, per rack, and per sf.
• Develop repeatable design standards and reference architectures for multiple sites.
• Assess new data center technologies for density, cost, or deployment speed.
• Lead cross-functional design reviews with Engineering, Operations, and business stakeholders.
