Job summary

Crusoe is seeking a Data Center Design Manager to optimize data center designs with a focus on space, power, and cost. You will partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure design decisions reflect real commercial trade-offs and deliver the best economics.

You’ll lead cross-functional design reviews across mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines to push density and efficiency while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data center design, engineering, or infrastructure planning.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems: power distribution, UPS, cooling.
• Experience translating cost and timeline constraints into engineering decisions.
• Ability to build and use cost models to compare design options.

Responsibilities

• Design Optimization: lead trade-off analysis across space, power density, and cost.
• Business Partnership: translate commercial requirements into design specs.
• Power & Cooling Strategy: evaluate distribution and cooling architectures.
• Cost Modeling: maintain models for total installed cost per kW, per rack, per ft2.
• Standardization & Reuse: develop repeatable design standards for multiple sites.
• Vendor & Technology Evaluation: assess new data center tech for density/cost.
