Job summary

Aligned Data Centers in Chicago, IL is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to support 24x7 facility operations. You will perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, fire and life safety, and building management systems. The role requires reliability for shift work and the ability to coordinate with contractors and the Facility Manager to maintain uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 3-5 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical critical facilities support.
• Electrical/Mechanical certifications preferred.
• Able to work overtime and longer shifts (12 hour).
• Shifts may require work day/night/weekend/holiday.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, monitors, and performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Oversees electrical operations, maintenance, and energy management programs for a critical facilities environment.
• Schedules, develops, and assures quality for preventive and contracted maintenance.
• Receives and completes work orders for maintenance and documents in CMMS.
• Responds to emergencies (fire, equipment failure) and coordinates with Facility Manager.
• Ensures safety procedures and compliance while working with 3rd party contractors.
