Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is seeking a Critical Environments Engineer to join our on-site team in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems within a data center environment, ensuring reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

The candidate will monitor building systems, analyze data, and coordinate with contractors while maintaining logs and adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data center/critical facility experience required.
• Experience with UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear.
• EPA 608 certification or within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of building systems (fire/life safety, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pumping, piping, controls).
• Record readings and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation; analyze faults and take corrective action.
• Install/repair plumbing, motors, pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, valves, and related controls.
• Oversee contractors and ensure safe, compliant work within the building’s critical infrastructure.
• Maintain engineering logs and data sheets; ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
