This is an early-career position with a clear development path toward independent controls commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support BMS and EPMS commissioning activities under the supervision of senior controls commissioning staff
  • Perform controls Pre-Functional Checks (PFCs), including point-to-point verification and L2/L3 readiness inspections
  • Assist in verifying sequences of operation against design documents and field conditions
  • Support Functional Performance Testing (FPT) and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) execution
  • Verify alarms, trends, graphics, and point mapping across DDC, SCADA, and DCIM platforms
  • Assist with troubleshooting controls, communication, and integration issues
  • Coordinate with controls contractors, OEMs, and trade partners to track and close open issues
  • Prepare accurate commissioning documentation, test records, and issue logs
Technical Competencies
  • Working knowledge of BMS and EPMS architectures and their role in data center operations
  • Familiarity with DDC controllers, SCADA systems, and DCIM platforms
  • Understanding of common controls protocols (BACnet, Modbus) and networking fundamentals
  • Ability to read and interpret controls drawings, points lists, and sequences of operation
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation habits
  • Clear communication with project teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Willingness to learn commissioning platforms and Anchor Mission Critical standards
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a strong instrumentation & controls (I&C) trade background
  • 2–5 years of experience in controls, building automation, or power monitoring systems
  • 1–3 years of direct experience in mission-critical and/or data center environments
  • Hands-on exposure to BMS and/or EPMS installation, programming, startup, or commissioning
Preferred
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara or Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO)
  • Prior role as Controls Technician, BAS Technician, I&C Technician, or equivalent
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Tridium Niagara Certification (TCP) or EcoStruxure Building Operation training
  • OEM-specific controls certifications (BMS/EPMS platforms)
  • OSHA 10- or 30-Hour Construction Safety
Performance Expectations
  • Accurate and timely completion of assigned PFCs and point-to-point verification
  • Reliable support of FPT and IST execution under senior direction
  • Early identification and escalation of controls-related issues
  • High-quality, complete commissioning documentation
  • Steady growth in technical capability and consistent application of Anchor Mission Critical Playbook standards
