Job summary

Innovar Group is seeking a Construction Safety Manager to support a data center construction project. The role requires a safety leader who can handle the pace and complexity of a site with overlapping structural, MEP, equipment delivery, and commissioning activities.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate ($60-$80/hour, W2) on a 6-12 month contract with potential for long-term opportunities. Benefits include paid holidays, PTO, and comprehensive medical plans.

Qualifications

• Experience leading safety on large, technically complex projects.
• Data center construction experience preferred, especially around MEP, energization or commissioning.
• Ability to work with subcontractors and project leaders in the field.
• Knowledge of job hazard analyses and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety activities, including site walks, inspections, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Partner with construction managers, trade contractors, and field crews to identify hazards and resolve issues before work proceeds.
• Review job hazard analyses and safety plans for activities such as electrical work, equipment installation, lifting operations, elevated work, and work around active systems.
• Coordinate safety expectations as multiple trades work in the same areas and the project moves toward testing, commissioning, and turnover.
• Monitor compliance with site procedures, contractor safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, document corrective actions, and follow through to completion.
