Job summary

Actalent in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Construction Manager / Owner’s Representative for large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. You will oversee projects from design through turnover, acting as the owner’s single point of contact and ensuring performance, resiliency, and compliance across sites.

The role requires independent work, extensive travel to 4–5 locations with 3–4 day stays, and collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and operations teams to meet aggressive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMP, CxA, LEED AP or equivalent are strongly preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training is highly beneficial for safety oversight.
• Experience as owner’s representative or with general contractors; multi-site exposure is a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively and support year‑over‑year project staffing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary owner advocate across design, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Lead owner-side meetings, steering committees, and milestone reviews.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and operations teams.
• Align project execution with owner objectives, standards, and risk policies.
• Review design development documents to verify resilience and performance targets.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, and change orders on behalf of the owner.
• Track schedule milestones and cost exposures with actionable recommendations.
• Monitor site safety and enforce safety/environmental protocols.
• Provide travel to multiple sites (4–5 sites, 3–4 day stays) and manage fit‑out phases.
• Support onboarding and staffing decisions for project staffing.
