Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute the construction program on site, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Responsibilities cover document control, layout verification, QA/QC, progress monitoring, and coordination with clients.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management and 2+ years in related fields, with strong organizational skills and a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents to the entire project team, including plans, specifications, RFIs, bulletins, and field reports.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions for accuracy.
• Verify subcontractor layout to ensure compliance with established line and grade.
• Administer Suffolk’s Quality Management Program, including inspections and deficiency tracking.
• Continuously monitor on-site progress to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, sketches, and software tools.
• Prepare and distribute daily and weekly work plans, schedules, and logistics plans.
• Attend meetings with customers and clients to provide status updates and address concerns.
• Compile and maintain permits, testing, and inspections for project completion.
• Assist in administering the Suffolk Safety Program and enforce safety requirements.
• Supervise and mentor Field Engineers in daily work and safety expectations.
