Job summary

NScale seeks an experienced Director of Construction to lead on-site execution across data center programs. You will report to the VP of Construction and manage Senior Managers, aligning design, procurement, commissioning, and operations to deliver on schedule and budget.

The role requires a track record in mission-critical construction, strong leadership, and proficiency with Procore/Bluebeam; a base salary in a competitive equity package is offered with travel across sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction management or owner-side roles, with 5+ years in data center or large-scale programs.
• Experience leading Senior Managers or regional program leaders and mentoring as part of succession planning.
• Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical construction practices and codes (NFPA, NEC).
• Strong program scheduling, cost control, contract administration, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site execution teams delivering data center construction programs from preconstruction through turnover.
• Directly manage Senior Managers across programs or regions; set execution standards and reporting cadence.
• Develop project scopes with Design & Engineering, Commissioning, Procurement, and Operations; allocate resources and schedules.
• Coordinate with Health & Safety, Security, Environmental, Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning, and Operations to keep programs on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain owner-side visibility into safety, quality, and compliance across sites; escalate issues beyond program authority.
• Review and approve budgets, change orders, and contingencies; report performance to VP of Construction.
