Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Commissioning Manager to oversee the entire commissioning process for data center systems, ensuring performance before go-live. The ideal candidate will lead with an inclusive mindset, set priorities, and manage cross‑functional teams across design, testing, and handover.

With 10–12 years in data center commissioning, you will coordinate schedules, budgets, and change orders while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
• 10–12 years of data center commissioning experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Manages all stages of commissioning process, from planning and design reviews to final testing and handover.
• Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists.
• Ensures facility systems comply with design specs, health and safety standards, and performance requirements.
• Acts as main point of contact, coordinating between teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Prepares and manages documentation including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents.
• Performs and oversees tests like functional testing and site acceptance testing to verify performance.
• Trains direct reports on processes and daily tasks.
• Manages workload and performance of direct reports to align with company standards.
• Fosters a positive, inclusive work environment and communicates strategy to the team.
