Responsibilities

• Manages all stages of commissioning from planning to handover.
• Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures and checklists.
• Ensures compliance with design specs, safety standards and performance requirements.
• Serves as main contact between teams, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
• Prepares documentation including inspection reports, test results and final certificates.
• Performs tests (functional, site acceptance) to verify system performance.
• Trains and manages direct reports; motivates and develops the team.
• Maintains alignment with company standards and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manages all stages of commissioning process, from initial planning and design reviews to final testing and handover
• Creates commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures (like IET and IPVT/IST), and verification checklists
• Ensures the facility and its systems comply with design specifications, health and safety standards, and performance requirements
• Acts as the main point of contact and manages communication between various teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Prepares and manages all necessary documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and final certification documents
• Performs and oversees various tests, such as functional testing and site acceptance testing, to verify system performance
• Trains direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks
• Manages workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members
• Aids in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports

Experience/Education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• 10-12 years of data center commissioning experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of data center systems, including power distribution, cooling, HVAC, and IT equipment
• Ability to manage schedules, budgets, change orders, and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively

This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

The pay range is $98,880.00 - $211,970.00 plus benefits and retirement program plus benefits and retirement program.
