Job summary

ABB seeks an experienced Site Manager to lead startup, testing, and commissioning of medium and low-voltage power systems for mission-critical data centers in North America. You will coordinate with Project Management, supervise field teams, and serve as the primary ABB onsite representative to clients and contractors.

This role requires extensive travel (up to 75%), strong leadership, safety stewardship, and precise documentation to ensure quality and schedule.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electrical equipment field service, startup, testing, or commissioning (prefer OEM LV/MV/HV equipment).
• Experience supporting data center construction or mission-critical electrical infra projects.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, electrical protection systems, and power distribution equipment.
• Travel up to 75% across North America, often for extended durations.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite startup, testing, installation, and commissioning aligned with scope, quality, schedule, and safety.
• Serve as the primary onsite ABB representative for client and site stakeholders; communicate progress, issues, and risks.
• Plan onsite activities, coordinate labor, equipment, and sequencing with contractors and safety managers.
• Uphold ABB HSE standards; maintain site safety plan and train personnel.
• Ensure timely field documentation, test reports, and punchlist updates; maintain drawings and QA records.
• Oversee ABB subcontractors to ensure scope, safety, quality, and schedule adherence; resolve field issues.
• Monitor costs and schedule; drive corrective actions and onsite purchasing within guidelines.
• Provide leadership to ABB field engineers, technicians, and support staff.
