Job summary

ABB is seeking a Site Manager to lead onsite startup, testing, and commissioning of medium and low voltage power delivery systems in mission-critical data centers across North America. You will coordinate with the Project Manager, manage safety and quality, supervise field engineers, and ensure schedule targets are met while maintaining ABB standards.

The role requires up to 75% travel, remote work in the US, and collaboration with clients and subcontractors to deliver safe, reliable ABB

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical equipment field service, startup, testing, or commissioning.
• Experience supporting data center construction or mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, electrical protection systems, and power distribution equipment.
• High school diploma required; advanced electrical or mechanical training preferred.
• Ability to travel 75% throughout North America, often for extended durations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead onsite operations in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments.
• Familiarity with engineered solutions including modern digital protection systems and IEC 61850 environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite activities related to equipment startup, testing, installation, and commissioning in accordance with project scope, quality standards, schedule targets, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager to validate resource readiness, material availability, and milestone alignment.
• Serve as the primary onsite representative for the client and all site stakeholders.
• Plan onsite activities, labor, equipment needs, commissioning sequences, and daily/weekly coordination routines.
• Implement and uphold ABB's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards on site.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of field documentation, including test reports and punchlist updates.
• Oversee ABB-hired subcontractors, ensuring compliance with scope, safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
• Monitor site costs and track schedule progress, driving corrective actions when needed.
• Provide direction, coaching, and daily leadership to ABB field engineers, technicians, and support staff.
