Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) for AMER-Central ACx to support construction and commissioning of critical infrastructure in Amazon-owned data centers.

You will review design docs, lead FWT, manage third‑party vendors, and coordinate across AWS engineering, operations, and contractors to ensure design intent, reliability, and safety. Relocation to Charlotte/Hamlet, NC required; travel up to 80% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering, installation, or commissioning experience of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience in data center, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years relevant discipline.
• Ability to review mechanical or electrical design documentation and provide feedback in line with Amazon standards.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents and lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
• Manage third‑party commissioning vendors for pre‑functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.
• Coordinate site activities across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams.
• Audit activities for compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive weekly status reports and lessons learned.
• Escalate project issues and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
