Reporting To

Service Manager

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead FWT, installation, commissioning, testing, and handover activities on-site, acting as the single point of contact for the customer. You will manage on-site presence throughout the project, ensuring coordination and smooth execution of all work activities. Your expertise will be showcased through planning, scheduling, and coordinating service resources based on guidelines.

The work model for this role is remote (#LI-Remote).

You will be mainly responsible for:

  1. Planning project on-site activities with the Project Manager, including local resources, equipment, and milestones.
  2. Coordinating agreements between customers and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policies.
  3. Managing all on-site activities from receiving the site area to handover, ensuring successful execution of start-up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
  4. Building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, authorities, banks, and suppliers to support field activities.
  5. Ensuring a detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place, compliant with ABB H&S standards.
  6. Promoting health and safety awareness among all on-site resources and ensuring proper training.
  7. Suspending activities if HSE violations occur, ensuring safety of all personnel.
  8. Handling, storing, and installing ABB equipment properly, coordinating logistics for timely delivery.
  9. Managing subcontractors to meet quality and progress standards.
  10. Controlling project costs, monitoring expenditures, and managing local purchasing within delegated authority.
  11. Maintaining and updating all project documentation accurately.
  12. Organizing and staffing the site effectively, guiding, motivating, and developing team members.
Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or Management.
  • 5+ years of field service project experience with an electrical OEM, including leading long-term field assignments and quality assurance.
  • Ability to travel 80-100% within North America and stay away from home for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding of site commissioning, including IEC61850 projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing test, start-up, and commissioning plans with third-party Cx agents.
  • Experience leading start-up teams responsible for ABB and GE LV and MV electrical equipment, relays, and PRN networks is preferred.
  • Leadership experience with multidisciplinary site teams and third-party contractors is preferred.
  • Must have valid work authorization for employment in the US.
