Job summary

Apple seeks an analytical Data Center Capacity Planner to join the Data Center Capacity Planning Strategy and Initiatives team in Austin. You will analyze demand and capacity, partner with engineering, cloud, and operations, and help drive automation and AI-driven analytics for strategic capacity investments.

This role focuses on remote data centers and Apple leased sites, requiring collaboration across disciplines to ensure scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in a related discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
• Experience in data center colocation operations and management, infrastructure operations, cloud platforms, capacity planning, or engineering program leadership
• Experience coordinating cross team planning initiatives in complex infrastructure environments
• Ability to translate infrastructure data and analytics into strategic insights for senior leadership
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Build analysis to provide holistic view of infrastructure demand, capacity outlook, and long term scaling considerations across physical infrastructure.
• Consolidate and interpret capacity insights from engineering and platform teams to inform leadership on capacity readiness and growth projections.
• Oversee planning and coordination for physical data center infrastructure, ensuring capacity readiness aligns with growth and platform needs.
• Identify and communicate capacity risks and readiness gaps, enabling proactive mitigation.
• Establish and track performance metrics for capacity planning and promote operational discipline across teams.
• Drive adoption of automation and AI-driven analytics in capacity planning while maintaining strategic oversight.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration and team development with engineering, cloud, data center, finance, and supply chain teams.
• Develop and lead data center strategy development initiatives to solidify Apple's long-term data center strategy.
