Job summary

Next Level Technician in Abilene, TX is hiring a Low Voltage Data Center Technician to install and maintain structured cabling and data center infrastructure. Duties include pulling and labeling cabling, testing with Fluke testers, and configuring racks and patch panels.

Some travel to client sites may be required. Qualifications include 0+ years in low-voltage work, familiarity with CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 0+ years of commercial or industrial low-voltage experience.
• Experience with structured cabling, voice/data, fiber, or security systems preferred.
• Data center experience is a plus.
• BICSI, lift, and OSHA certifications are a plus.
• Basic hand tools and PPE required (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, and steel-toe boots).
• Basic working knowledge of telecommunications and data networks.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A cabling.
• Test installed cabling using Fluke or similar cable testers.
• Punch down voice and data jacks.
• Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, and MDF/IDF infrastructure.
• Work safely on ladders and lifts while remaining comfortable working at heights.
• Read and interpret blueprints, cabling plans, and system layouts.
• Install and support structured cabling, fiber‑optic systems, and related data center infrastructure.
• Assist with rack‑and‑stack, cable management, and data center installation projects.
