Job summary

KCI Telecommunications is seeking a Data Center Technician to install and maintain low voltage cabling, fiber optics, and network infrastructure in a high-security data center. You will install, test, and troubleshoot equipment, read blueprints, and ensure safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates have experience with PDUs, server racks, and industry standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI, plus strong problem-solving and teamwork skills for rapid upgrades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
• Experience installing and maintaining low voltage cabling and networking gear.
• Proficiency with cable testing tools and network equipment.
• Strong understanding of ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with PDUs and server racks.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling in data center environments.
• Install and mount networking equipment in server racks.
• Perform cable management, labeling, and patching per standards.
• Troubleshoot cabling and networking hardware and run tests.
• Coordinate with engineers and electricians on installations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain safety and data center protocols and records.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
