Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support a large-scale data center build project in Ashburn, VA. This contract-to-hire role targets individuals with structured cabling experience and offers hands-on growth on a long-term site.

Responsibilities include routing, installing, testing, and servicing cabling infrastructure, while following safety standards and project guidelines. Onsite work emphasizes reliability and teamwork on a major data center build.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of structured cabling experience.
• Experience pulling, routing, and terminating cable.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a construction environment.
• Comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must have basic hand tools and be comfortable using power tools.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred or ability to obtain prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Pull and route network and communications cabling.
• Assist experienced technicians with structured cabling installations.
• Handle and transport materials throughout the project site.
• Install cable trays, wireways, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure.
• Build telecommunications closets and install supporting hardware.
• Terminate and test cabling connections.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Climb ladders and work at various heights as needed.
• Support fiber optic and copper cabling installations.
• Follow safety procedures and project standards.
