Job summary

The Archetype Strategy is seeking a skilled Division 28 Data Center Technician to join our team in Fredericksburg, VA. The ideal candidate will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage systems in mission-critical data center environments, with attention to safety and deadlines.

Responsibilities include copper/fiber cabling, Division 28 system support, blueprints reading, cable testing, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in low-voltage or Division 28 installations preferred.
• Experience working in data centers is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI).
• Experience with cable testing and certification equipment.
• Ability to read construction documents and wiring diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling in data center environments.
• Install and support Division 28 systems including structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and network infrastructure.
• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, rack elevations, and construction drawings.
• Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard equipment.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and low-voltage system issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and as-built drawings.
