Job summary

NLT in Northern Virginia is seeking an experienced Data Center Foreman to lead structured cabling crews. You will supervise field teams, assign daily tasks, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time project completion.

You will install and certify fiber and copper cabling, read drawings, manage rack installations, coordinate with project managers and customers, and help with turnover and closeout. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AWS data center cabling and rack installations.
• 4–7 years of structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center infrastructure experience, including at least 2 years of crew leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of fiber-optic and copper cabling installation practices and proficiency with fiber and copper testing equipment.
• Experience working in active, mission-critical data center environments and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings, cut sheets, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field crews, assign daily tasks, distribute workloads, conduct job briefings, and ensure project expectations, schedules, goals, and deliverables are met.
• Serve as NLT's on-site representative while coordinating with project managers, customers, vendors, and field personnel; mentor and train technicians on installation standards, best practices, and safety procedures.
• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and certify single-mode and multimode fiber-optic cabling, copper cabling (Cat6, Cat6A, and higher), and backbone and horizontal cabling infrastructure.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, rack elevations, cut sheets, and project specifications.
• Monitor project progress and productivity, coordinate materials and equipment, identify potential risks, and communicate issues to management to keep projects on schedule.
• Support commissioning, migrations, and cutovers; assist with project turnover and customer acceptance; complete punch-list items and project closeout requirements.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and customer expectations by reviewing test results, labeling, cable administration, and maintaining product status updates.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and safety policies, ensure proper PPE use, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
