Job summary

Align is seeking a Data Center Project Manager in Sterling, VA to lead electrical and mechanical distribution builds in data centers. You will own project scope, schedule, quality, and budget, working daily with general contractors on site to deliver turnkey results.

The role requires 5+ years in constructing large‑scale MEP projects, strong contractor/vendor management, and the ability to read plans. Travel up to 50% may be needed; Procore experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering/science or construction management
• 5+ years of construction management experience on large, complex data center/MEP projects
• Strong contractor and vendor management experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings/specifications
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, NFPA, NEC, OSHA
• Willingness to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases
• Monitor progress with updated schedules and manage client expectations
• Manage construction project activities to increase data center resiliency
• Resolve scope issues with subcontractors and trades
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, invoicing, and P&L spreadsheets
• Record and report key construction metrics to team and management
• Lead teams to troubleshoot and perform root-cause failure analysis
