Job summary

Albireo Energy, LLC is seeking a Controls / Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain PLC-based control systems for mission-critical data centers. The role focuses on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, Ignition SCADA, and system integration in uptime-sensitive environments.

You will develop and debug PLC logic, configure Ignition HMI/ALARMing, support EPMS and data center infrastructure, and collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and IT/OT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
• 1+ years hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or SCADA development.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming (Studio 5000 / RSLogix500).
• Experience developing or supporting SCADA/HMI systems, preferably Ignition.
• Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, OPC UA).

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and maintain PLC control logic primarily using Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, Micro800, Studio 5000)
• Design and configure Ignition SCADA applications, including HMI screens, alarming, trending, and data visualization
• Integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, and third-party devices using protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP, and OPC UA
• Support Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) and other critical infrastructure systems within data centers
• Assist in system architecture, controls design, and network layout for industrial automation systems
• Participate in factory testing, site commissioning, and system startup activities
• Diagnose and resolve control system, SCADA, and communication issues in live environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and IT/OT engineers
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, including control narratives
