Job summary

HonorVet Technologies seeks a skilled Database Administrator to support and optimize our database environments onsite in Salt Lake City. You will manage Sybase ASE/IQ, UDB DB2 with HADR, and multiple databases worldwide, ensuring robust performance and availability.

The role requires extensive DBA experience on Linux, strong troubleshooting and cross-team collaboration, and the ability to lead small projects including migrations and life-cycle planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Database Administration role.
• 5+ years of supporting platforms including Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5/6/7/8.
• 5+ years of strong knowledge in DBA tasks, maintenance, migration and upgrades in complex environments.
• 5+ years of extensive exposure to Sybase ASE, IQ & Replication (v16.x, v15.x, v12.x) under Linux.
• 5+ years of strong knowledge in UDB/DB2 including HADR and database design/maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform Database Administration Support.
• Provide production support for Sybase ASE/IQ, UDB DB2, and related databases.
• Manage replication, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle infrastructures globally.
• Schedule maintenance jobs using Autosys; perform root cause analysis and remediation.
• Coordinate with application and IT support teams for timely responses to critical requests.
• Monitor database infrastructure and alerts daily.
• Oversee provisioning, user requests, and participate in business continuity tests across regions.
• Adhere to change management; create/update policies for operational activities.
• Lead small database team projects including datacenter migrations and End Of Life planning.

Job Title: Data Base Administrator

Job Description:

• Perform Database Administration Support.
• Provide production support for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, and Sybase.
• Replication, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, Mongo DB, and Oracle database infrastructure globally.
• Continually evaluate the operations of the environment and assist in the optimization and delivery of server infrastructure.
• Schedule maintenance jobs using Autosys, perform root cause analysis on system failures and incidents and provide remediation solutions.
• Communicate and coordinate with application support and other IT support teams to provide timely responses for critical requests.
• Perform daily monitoring of Database infrastructure and Alerts.
• Responsible for Provisioning activities, User requests, Involves in Business Continuity plan tests across all regions related to Database infrastructure.
• Adhere to company change management requirements and procedures. Create policies and procedures for regular operational activities.
• Manage small project initiatives within the Database team across large portions of the enterprise including datacenter migrations and End Of life Database software and hardware.

Must have Skills/Experience:

• 5 years of experience in the Database Administration role.
• 5 years of Supporting the platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5/6/7/8.
• 5 years of Strong experience in database administration, maintenance and implementation, migration, and upgrade in a complex system environment.
• 5 years of Extensive exposure to Sybase ASE, IQ & Replication (v16.x, v15.x, v12.x) database administration under Linux platform.
• 5 years of Strong knowledge UDB/DB2 including HADR, DB2 Database design, development and maintenance.
• 5 years of Strong working knowledge on DBA tasks, troubleshooting and analytical skills IT.
• 5 years of Experience with Solid understanding of Banking domains and its processes.
• 5 years of Good Interpersonal skills to interact with global Teams.
• 5 years of Knowledge in job scheduler bash; Autosys, cron jobs etc.

Education/Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred .
