Job summary

Energy Trust of Oregon is seeking a Data and Automation Manager to design and implement enterprise-wide data management, automation, and analytics solutions. You’ll lead a team, define roadmaps, and partner with IT and business units to drive efficiency and data quality.

The role focuses on data warehouses, ETL, low-code/no-code apps, AI-driven tools, and governance to ensure secure, scalable platforms. Portland-based with flexible work options and a commitment to pay equity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10 years of experience in data management, automation, or related technical domains, including responsibility for enterprise or cross-functional solutions.
  • 3 years of demonstrated leadership in job or functional role, including people management or technical leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing data engineering, ETL, process automation, business intelligence, or enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Experience managing governance for self‑service user‑facing tools like reporting, low code no code, or AI.
  • Experience managing or leading technical teams.
  • Experience with tools such as SQL, SSIS, ETL platforms, BI/reporting tools, automation tools, Power Platform, or similar tools.
  • Experience with modern data and applications platforms such as Microsoft Dataverse, Fabric, or equivalent enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot or comparable AI solutions.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in triaging requests for priority, establishing criteria.
  • Experience tracking metrics or KPIs.
  • Leadership and mentoring in data, automation, and reporting best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team‑based environment, and the ability to document work for easy understanding for both technical and non‑technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of data, automation, and reporting technologists, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Set team goals; assign and prioritize work, manage workloads; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Business Systems, and Enterprise Architect to align platforms and delivery approaches.
  • Develop and communicate a roadmap for data, reporting, automation, low/no-code apps, and AI initiatives.
  • Lead staff in partnering with business units to identify and deliver processes improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Oversee design and maintenance of data warehouse systems, ETL processes, and data structures for analytics.
  • Oversee development and management of low code/no code applications, workflows, and integrations.
  • Oversee AI-enabled automations and AI agents with governance and oversight.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and users to establish AI/governance that meets business needs.
  • Provide vision for governance of enterprise reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Create guidance on platforms for automation and communications for data staff.
  • Contribute to Energy Trust’s Data Strategy and related initiatives.
  • Perform all functions of the job safely.
