Job summary

Big Impact Tech (BIT) seeks a Data Automation Engineer to support Coast Guard data modernization. You will design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines, workflows, and integration solutions to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and reporting capabilities in a federal context.

The role requires expertise in ETL/ELT development, cloud data platforms, APIs, and data governance, with collaboration across stakeholders and engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, automation, or data integration.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and ETL/ELT development.
• Experience with APIs and cloud data platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines and workflows.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes for multiple source systems.
• Develop data integration solutions using APIs, databases, and cloud services.
• Automate manual data collection, validation, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for reliability and data quality.
• Implement data quality checks, exception handling, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineers to deliver automated solutions.
• Support cloud data platforms and data warehouse environments.
• Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data management standards.
