Job summary

Moxie Pest Control is seeking a Data/Systems Engineer to join a small, fast-moving Data and Engineering team in Irving, TX. You’ll own automation, data pipelines, and AI‑driven processes, partnering with engineers to uplift the tech stack.

You’ll build Python‑based automations, develop ETL/ELT workflows, and ensure data quality while collaborating with BI and Fabric environments. This hands‑on role offers growth and ownership.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in data/systems engineering or closely related software/automation role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent on‑the‑job experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines with orchestration tools like Dagster or Apache Airflow.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, able to work independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python scripts for ETL/ELT processes that move and transform data across systems.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Dagster to integrate data from a variety of sources.
• Develop Python‑based automations that reduce manual steps in data and business workflows.
• Add automated testing and basic auditing to data solutions.
• Collaborate with BI to feed Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments.
• Document designs, processes, and solutions; keep work organized and traceable.
• Troubleshoot pipeline performance and data quality issues; monitor health and alerts.
