Job summary

SMX is hiring a Data Architecture Analyst to bridge the gap between functional finance teams and LCNC engineers. You will design data schemas and map workflows, translating Army financial requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. The role ensures role-based dashboards and fit-for-purpose user experiences.

The position requires an active U.S. Secret Clearance and 5+ years of business analysis experience within enterprise IT. Strong data modeling and Python tooling are valued.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Clearance (or higher).
• 5+ years of business or functional analysis experience supporting enterprise IT systems.
• Experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, and supporting system migration efforts.
• Experience processing large-scale federal financial datasets (preferred).
• Familiarity with data manipulation frameworks (e.g., Python, pandas, PyArrow) to understand complex data transformations.
• Experience with data modeling/documentation techniques/approaches.

Responsibilities

• Document business processes, data structures, calculations, workflows, and write-back processes to transition functionality off GFEBS BW.
• Develop use cases, user stories, and maintain requirements traceability from current state through LCNC implementation.
• Draft essential user guides, data dictionaries, and SOPs to support sustainment handoff.
• Communicate effectively with both functional users and technical integration teams to ensure data ingestion preserves source lineage and control totals.
