About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to design and lead the development of scalable, secure, and compliant healthcare data solutions. You’ll play a key role in shaping data architecture across Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and interoperability platforms, ensuring seamless integration and analytics capabilities across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on expertise in HEDIS, CMS Interoperability (FHIR), and deep knowledge of healthcare data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure data systems to support analytics and data‑driven decisions.
- Architect and deploy interoperability solutions aligned with USCDI‑US Core compliance.
- Build and maintain logical, physical, and conceptual data models for healthcare domains (Claims, Member, Provider, EHR, etc.).
- Evaluate and recommend modern data management tools, frameworks, and platforms.
- Implement and uphold data governance policies ensuring integrity, quality, and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams — business analysts, data scientists, and IT — to align data solutions with organizational goals.
- Optimize data storage and access performance for both real‑time and historical data.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance data capabilities.
- Mentor and guide team members in data management best practices.
Experience & Skills
- Deep expertise in Data Architecture, databases, and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Strong grasp of healthcare data and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDs, HIE, USCDI‑US Core)
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, PySpark, and Python
- Hands‑on experience with tools like Erwin, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, IBM DataStage, or Informatica
- Understanding of BI and analytics platforms
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years in Data Architecture, preferably in the healthcare domain
- 5+ years leading large‑scale healthcare data systems
- 5+ years designing interoperability solutions (FHIR, HL7, etc.)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Familiarity with major EHR systems like Epic or Cerner
